This collection of photographs spans the entirety of quarantine in 2020 as we exited one winter and ended up in the middle of another. In that span, the turmoil of politics and flagrant injustice in America stood in stark contrast with the stillness of lockdown as we watched the year unfold through our screens.

Most ventures out with a camera were desperate attempts to find beauty amidst despair and connection despite isolation. Each photograph was an exercise in making something out of nothing and serves to document the unique point in history.

Amongst the hardships and blurred moments in which time became insignificant, life’s more important pursuits rose above the background noise. The coming year made no promises, but it held hope for recovery with a healthy dose of hindsight.
